This year the swimming team had 3 boys representing Kenya in the Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA). They were Curtis Kamotho, Adam Otieno and Emmanuel Otieno.

The venue was in Groupe Scolaire Officiel de Butare, Huye, Rwanda. Kenyan team had 30 swimmers from different Secondary Schools in the country; Strathmore School produced 3 boys.

Their performances in the Kenya Team were as follows:

-Position 3 in 100m Freestyle

-Silver Medal
-Position 2 in 200m Mixed Relay [Breastroke]

Curtis Kamotho
-Bronze Medal
-Position 3 in 50m Backstroke.

All in all the Kenyan Swimming Team took 2nd position with Uganda and Rwanda scooping 1st and 3rd respectively.

Next year we hope the team make it to Uganda for the same tournament with more numbers from the school!

On the 25th April to 28th April our swimmers participated in the nationals schools swimming championship. 3 of our swimmers competed well for Nairobi County and managed to qualify for East Africa Secondary School games in Rwanda. The qualification criteria for the East Africa Schools Swimming Championships was Position 1 & 2 in all events.

All of them have qualified for East Africa Games, Rwanda. In August. We wish them all the best!

The Strathmore Swimming Team went out to compete for Nairobi County Championships on the 6th April. The following were the best performance that the team achieved:

Emmanuel Otieno was 3rd in 50M butterfly
Adam Otieno was 1st Position in 100M Breast Stroke, 1st Position in 100M Free Style, 1st Position in 50M Breast Stroke
Cutris Kamotho was 2nd in 50M Backstroke and 2nd in 50M Breast Stroke

Emmanuel Otieno, Adam Otieno and Curtis Kamotho qualified to represent Nairobi Region Swimming team in the Nationals in Eldoret.

Curtis, Adam, Dante and Emmanuel were the best team in the 4 by 50m Medley Relay.

The school’s annual swimming gala was held on 23rd March 2019. It was a climax of the 4 Swimming gala events that the school swimming team has participated in. The 4 gala events were PIPSA (at St. Nicholas School), PIPSA (at School of Nations), Nakifeo (at Makini School), Lifetime (at Makini School). In these events Strathmore scooped position 2,2,1 and 1 respectively. The age groups featured were mainly between 7-and-Under to 13.

On 2nd February 2018 the school swimming team comprising of boys from the secondary and primary section attended the St. Nicholas School swimming gala. They got an award for the 2nd best boys team.

The boys who participated in the 8 years and over category took part in relays, 25 meters by 4 (Breaststroke, Backstroke, Butterfly and crawl) individual events, 50 meters by 4 (Breaststroke, Backstroke, Butterfly and crawl) and 100 meters individual medley.

The boys who participated in the 7 years and under category had a chance to compete in relays, 25 meters kick-board and 25 meters noodle back.

The gallant swimmers brought home 14 Golds, 12 Silvers and 12 Bronze medals.

This is a good start to the swimming season 2019.

The Swimming Gala for the Primary section was held on Saturday, 25th March 2017 at the  swimming pool. The event attracted many pupils from Standard 1 to 8 while many others came to cheer their friends. All participants who emerged 1st, 2nd and 3rd were awarded medals.

The Swimming Club  participated in the 2017  Kenya Swimming Federation (KSF) Nairobi Minnow Meet in Makini School. The boys registered impressive results despite having only a few training sessions prior to the event. The  team was composed of Standard 3 and 4 boys. Frank Mwenje, Std 3, won a bronze medal in breastroke while Kerama Nyanyuki, Std 3, won 2 silver medals in backstroke and breaststroke.
