

Strathmore School has undergone various changes at the start of a promising new year.
The staff roster, among other things, has undergone a few changes with teachers leaving and new ones joining the school...
The School held an assembly on January the 6th and the students were informed of several changes made in the school.
For starters
George Owino, who had been teaching F2, F3 & F4 Biology since 2003, has left Strathmore and moved to St. Mary’s where he now teaches I.B. He’s been replaced by
Joseph Muhia, himself a biology teacher from St. Hannah’s High School, whose been teaching biology since 2002. He describes his teaching experience at Strathmore as pleasant with responsive and attentive students. With this current state of affairs it is certain Biology grades will be on an upward trend.
John Muthiora has been appointed as the
deputy principal in addition to being the head of section for the secondary department.

Brian Njoroge has also joined the staff from Strathmore University where he was a writer for the Communications office, a branch of the University Relations office. He is teaching class 3 Social Studies and C.R.E, class 4 Computers and C.R.E and class 5 Computers.
He describes his average class as energetic and full of vibrant pupils. His main challenge is to redirect the energy of these children towards learning.
His goal is to contribute to the School’s mission by aiding in the process of molding his pupils into respectable Strathmorians.
Four new assistant teachers have been hired,
Aloysius Maina, Edward Nyasya, Bliss Kiio and Ian Otieno. The computer lab received an upgrade of new desktop computers and a face lift with the floor being re-tiled.

Standard ones were welcomed into the Strathmore community on 12th of this month and, evident from their bright and eager faces, they will be valuable and irreplaceable additions to the school in years to come. Another group hoping to make an entrance is the F1 of 2010 who began their orientation on Saturday the 23rd and commenced classes on 26th of the same month.
The Basketball B-team also began the season on a winning note with a 26-16 win over ISK-B Team. The A-Team also has its sights set on winning gold in the ISL which begins on Tuesday the 19th with a game against Nairobi Academy.
