This year’s Strath Cup (Basketball U-17 Tourney) was held on Saturday, 2nd February 2008 and was accompanied by fair weather, good organization and the usual fair play.

The teams in attendance included RVA, Rusinga, West Nairobi, Visa Oshwal, Peponi, Braeside, Hillcrest and our very own Pirates.

The stage was set for stiff competition as last year’s 1st runners-up Peponi School were determined to take the trophy away from the Pirates.

In order to give the event due justice, below is a summarized match by match analysis of Strath Cup in order of matches played by the Pirates.

Comfortably ahead by 15 middle of the 3rd quarter. Substituted generously. Before we knew it, we had a dog fight on our hands. Starters stayed cool to win it in the dying minutes.

The famous Strathmore Cup basketball tournament returned this year to to an eager crowd of fans prepared for one of Nairobi's best basketball shows. It was double joy for Strathmore Team B not only to host the event but also win it in a spectacular final match against Frech School.
