This year, the Primary Section held their show in the newly completed Activities Block, a shift from the previous tradition of staging it near the swimming pool. The new venue elevated the experience with better acoustics, structured seating and a festive atmosphere.
Eli Kamau, a participant and keen observer, described the event as “ear candy,” highlighting the sharp organization, entertaining announcers in hilarious costumes, and a lively crowd. Sweet treats were thrown into the crowd by performers, adding a playful touch that thrilled the young audience.
The MC, Mr. Were, stood out in his unique costume and charismatic hosting, praised by multiple students for his enthusiasm and humor. Hakeem Areri noted standout acts such as Kiama Kariuki’s rap, which “shook the stage,” and the delightful “Paris Dance” by a junior primary student that sparked laughter and imitations.
According to Jeffrey Shikhule, the talent show was “a blast,” featuring singing, dancing, and visual art performances that entertained all.

- Henry Ndirangu (Class 4) – Accompanied singing, scored an impressive average of 90, earning 1st place.
- Jabali Mbugua (Class 4) – Won both Piano Solo and Poetry categories, with perfect and near-perfect scores.
- Mark Muikia (Class 4) – Took 1st in Spoken Word with a powerful and well-delivered piece.
Group Performances:
- A dance ensemble led by Ethan Kinyua and group emerged top in their category with rhythmic flair and coordination.

- Joshua Okumu & Peet Saende (Class 9A) led the Accompanied category with an average of 81.
- Alvin Kirimi (Class 7A) impressed with his flawless French Poem, scoring 89.
- In Instrumental Ensemble, Netanya Mutura & Emmanuel Kariuki (Class 7) topped the list with excellent harmony and musical synchronization.
- Ian Kiama (Class 8&) claimed top spot in Poetry with a resounding 93 average.
- The unaccompanied rap performance by Jude Wasike (Class 9&) stood out with a dynamic delivery and earned 85.
Visual Art Competitions:
From graphite drawings and wet media paintings to digital design and beat-making, the 2025 Talent Show featured a wide array of visual art expressions.
JSS Art Highlights:
- Christopher Mudida (Class 7&) led the Graphite Drawing category with 84%.
- Lucas Chorongo (Class 8A) topped the Painting section with an impressive 88%.
- Ethan Mallowah (Class 8&) won the Biro Art category also with 88%.
- Mathew Njogu (Class 8&) clinched the Mixed Media top prize with 92%.
Senior Secondary Art Standouts:
- Njogu Gitau (Class 4&) swept top positions in both Graphite Drawing (96%) and Painting (90%).
- Tafari Wangaru (Class 3&) took first in Beat Making with 80%.
- Nathan Njogu (Class 4A) topped the Video Editing competition with a solid 90%.
