We are proud to announce that a team of 52 students from Strathmore School represented Kenya at the 3rd East and Southern African World Schools Debate Championship 2025. The prestigious event brought together 14 teams β 6 senior and 8 junior β from six countries: Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Kenya.
Kenya was represented by three schools with Strathmore standing out as a key contender. After five preliminary rounds, all 14 teams advanced to the knockout stage. The level of competition and preparation across the region was impressively high!
Strathmore School delivered an exceptional performance and returned home with multiple accolades, including:
- π The Spirit of Competition Award β for being the most dynamic and competitive school in the championship.
- π Junior Main Cup Winners β recognizing the remarkable performance of our junior team.
- π Senior Main Cup Winners β a well-earned victory by our senior team for their strategic excellence and teamwork.
- π£οΈ Best Junior Speaker β awarded to Austin Muniu (Grade 9) for his outstanding eloquence, clarity of thought and persuasive speaking.
In total, Strathmore School brought home an incredible 13 trophies and 1 shield, marking one of our most successful outings in an international debate competition.
